Airport transfers will be arranged for you from Belize City airport (BZE) on February 24th, returning on May 2nd. The shuttles will be leaving BZE at 2:00pm so please ensure that you arrive at the airport with enough time to meet your shuttle. The most direct flights from YEG and YYZ are with WestJet and American Airlines and arrive between 10:50am/12:40pm. We will be having a welcome dinner at the inn after we settle in to our rooms.
We will be staying at Crimson Orchid Inn in Orchid Bay which is located in the Corozal district on the north side of Belize. This journey will take about 2 hours from the Belize airport by shuttle. We are located a short stroll from the beach and have a gorgeous oceanside infinity pool. The ocean waters are calm and safe in the bay.
Several different room styles are available and will be booked based on your needs. You can choose between a room with a queen sized bed or two twin beds based on availability. Rooms are double occupancy, and we would be happy to pair you up with a suitable roommate. Every room has it’s own private ensuite.
3 delicious healthy, vegetarian meals will be offered daily, prepared lovingly using local ingredients. Please notify me of any dietary restrictions or allergies upon booking so that arrangements can be made.
There will be 2 yoga classes offered daily and they are optional. They will be accessible for all levels and many modifications will be offered, both to simplify the poses or challenge you.
Extra Things to Note:
Safety - The property is located in a safe community in northern Belize, and is very private with neighbourhood watch effective in the area. As always while traveling, be cautious and smart. Avoid walking alone at night and do not carry large amounts of money with you.
Currency - Belize uses both USD and Belize dollars. There is no need to find Belize dollars as you can use USD wherever you go.
Electricity/Plugs - generally 110v and the same prongs as North America, so you will not need an adaptor.
Departure Tax - There is a $40USD departure tax from Belize City Airport.
I’ve been practicing yoga since 2008. I’ll never forget that first class, a friend had been trying to get me to go with her. After saying forever that yoga wasn’t for me I finally went. Turned out yoga was and is totally for me. Physically, mentally, emotionally. Its been life changing. I spent the next 7 years practicing, learning, growing.
In 2015 I decided I wanted to further my own practice and share it with the world, and took my first teacher training. Since then I’ve tried my best to share what I know with the world, literally. Teaching classes, and guiding retreats in Canada, Mexico and South East Asia. I’ve also made a point of continuing to learn from some pretty amazing teachers from all over this amazing world. I’ve had the pleasure of practicing and learning in over 12 countries and 5 continents, a list that will continue to grow. I have graduated additional teacher trainings in Rocket yoga, Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) yoga and as a Paddle Canada instructor.
I still lead retreats - or as I like to call them - Adventures. Combining my love of the outdoors, yoga, mountains, ocean and sharing all of that with all of you.
See you on the mat!
