Join Myah Skibin and Megan Simpson in Portugal this October for a retreat to remember overlooking the Douro in the countryside. The view from the yoga deck is a sight to behold and is sure to be etched in your memory for a long time to come. Located near wine country, you will have the opportunity to take a wine tour, explore the local village, or take a day trip to the seaside town of Porto (included). Your days will begin with a yoga class followed by fresh breakfast. The days are yours to relax and explore the town, visit the animals on the farm, take a dip in the pool, or sip on local vino. Lunch will be laid out buffet style where you can prepare your own sandwiches, salads, or whatever is selected for each day. Your dinner will be healthy, fresh and delicious, either prepared onsite or we will visit some of the best local restaurants. This retreat is focused on community and real connection, with an emphasis on being present in our daily lives and relationships. We will start our day off in silence before breakfast, and limit use of technology during group events. One of our dinners will be community style where we will all contribute in some way and work together to create a delicious feast. Our second class of the day will be a sunset class overlooking the river. Yoga classes will vary in styles but will include rocket yoga, yin and vinyasa flow. Return home feeling full, invigorated, refreshed, and full of love.

Airport transfers will be arranged for you from Porto International Airport on the start and end day of the retreat. You are welcome to arrive in Portugal early or stay later, however it will be at your own cost for transportation to the accommodations. Please arrive prior to dinner on the retreat start date.

A full list of activities and pricing will be sent to you a few weeks prior to the start of the retreat.
Rooms are almost all double occupancy, and we would be happy to pair you up with a suitable roommate. Wifi is available. Rooms will be on a first come first serve basis so be sure to book early!

3 delicious, healthy meals will be offered daily prepared using local ingredients. Some meals will be at the accommodations and we will also explore some of the best rated local restaurants. One meal will be a community meal where will assign ourselves a job or dish and prepare a meal together as a group. Please notify me of any dietary restrictions or allergies upon booking so that arrangements can be made.

Yoga Classes
There will be 2 yoga classes offered daily and they are optional. They will be accessible for all levels and many modifications will be offered, both to simplify the class or challenge you.
Styles: Rocket Yoga, Flow yoga, yin yoga

Extra Things to Note:
Vaccinations - You do not require any vaccinations to travel here.
Currency - Portugal uses Euros.
Electricity/Plugs - For Portugal there are two associated plug types, C and F. Plug type C is the plug which has two round pins and type F has two round pins with two earth clips on the side. Portugal operates on 230V supply voltage and 50Hz. It is important to note that it does not convert the voltage or frequency and you WILL require a converter.
Visa - Canadian citizens using Canadian passports do not require a visa to enter Portugal for tourism or business stays under ninety (90) days

About Your Instructors:

Megan Simpson

Megan is a Yoga Alliance Experienced Registered 500 hr certified yoga instructor, trained in many different styles. In addition to her 500-hour Yoga training Meg is trained in rocket yoga, meditation, yin, pre and postnatal yoga, yoga for aging gracefully, ashtanga, vinyasa and hatha yoga. Megan loves to create challenge in her classes, balanced out with an element of fun. You can find her teaching various classes around Kitchener/Waterloo. For the last few years Megan has been lucky enough to combine her love of travel with her passion for yoga and founded Yogigos where she leads wellness retreats and teacher trainings in destinations such as Costa Rica, Cyprus, Belize and Dominican as well as in Canada. When she is not on her mat you can find Megan making handmade meditation malas, playing with her puppy Gus, or enjoying a local craft beer!

Myah Skibin

Myah is a Yoga Alliance 200hr certified instructor who is in the process of completing her advanced 500hr training with Empowered Yoga. Her trainings have been very anatomy based which has given Myah the skills to be able to adapt her classes for each individual in the class, offering them modifications for their particular body and level, and ensuring everyone gets the most out of each class. Myah has a very warm and welcoming energy, and she loves to add an element of play to each class. If you are a beginner she will instruct you in a way that will help you to understand and feel each pose in your body, and advanced practitioners rest assured, she will challenge you to help you progress to the next level. Myah has been hosting yoga retreats for several years now, and has recently become a partner in Yogigos where she will beginning working more on the planning and organizing side as well. Myah is the most sincere and genuine instructor you can find, and the absolute perfect host for your next yoga retreat.
