About Yogigos

Our mission is to create and facilitate affordable and unique yoga retreats that will be unforgettable for years to come.

We are a team of retreat and adventure specialists. There is something special about a Yogigos retreat that has to be experienced to be understood. Come adventure with us and discover it for yourself.

Sandra Van-Dong DeLaRonde (adventure specialist)

Sandra Van Dong-DeLaRonde acquired her 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher training in Baja California. She recently returned to Baja for a 100 hour Immersive Meditation training and is working towards the completion of her 300 Hours Advanced Yoga Alliance certification. Sandra’s approach to yoga is fun and nurturing and she loves inspiring others on their quest to improve wellness. She has even created her own brand and style, Beatz Yoga, combining her love of dance and yoga, which has continuously gained popularity in her community and has sold out events. Sandra would describe herself as “not a typical yogi,” neither in looks nor in physical form (you won’t see her in a headstand, or a complex, twisted posture on her Instagram), but she defines herself as, friendly, open-minded and approachable. When she’s not talking yoga and meditation, she’s talking food and family.

Megan Goodchild (owner/adventure specialist)

Megan has been practicing yoga in some form or another since 2007. She has completed a 200 hour training in April 2014 as well as a 500 Hour training in power vinyasa. She has also completed trainings in Yin Yoga, Pre/Post Natal Yoga, meditation, yoga for aging gracefully/chair yoga and is certified to teach Barre and yoga shred. Most recently she completed Rocket Power Yoga training in San Francisco at Asta Yoga. Megan founded Yogigos in 2015 and has been leading global wellness retreats as well as planning and facilitating them for instructors ever since, hosting retreats in places such as Costa Rica, Portugal, Cyprus and Nicaragua to name a few. Earlier this year she opened the doors to her own yoga studio, The Attic Yoga, which focuses on flow, power yoga and rocket. Megan feels so grateful to not only have found what she is truly passionate about, but also for the opportunity to share it with others. When she is not on her mat you can find Megan making handmade meditation malas, playing with puppies, or enjoying a local craft beer!

Myah Skibin (adventure specialist)

Myah is a full time instructor and currently the resident yoga instructor at The Yoga Loft in Cabarete, Dominican Republic. She is a Yoga Alliance 200hr certified instructor who is in the process of completing her advanced 500hr training with Empowered Yoga. Myah has a very warm and welcoming energy, and she loves to add an element of fun and challenge to each class. Myah is the most sincere and genuine instructor you can find, and the absolute perfect host for your next yoga retreat.

Real Reviews From Real Yogis

Q. I am traveling alone and I am worried I will be lonely or left out. Should I still come?

Yogigos retreats are very inclusive. Each retreat has a wide variety of people from all different places in life and different age groups. The beauty of these retreats is that we all come together with a common goal of connection and a sense of openness. We dine together, we yoga together, and more often than not the group decide to spend their days together whether they choose to relax or go on adventures.

Q. But will I have to pay an extra cost for a single room and be on my own in my room all week?

There is a surcharge for single occupancy, when it is even available, however, we are happy to match you up with a suitable roommate for your trip. One of the most magical things about our retreats is the friendships and connections that are made. Many people decide to come alone, so you will not be the only one. So many of these friendships last way beyond the retreat and people keep in touch. Yoga really is about community and connection, and that is an experience you are guaranteed to have on each and every one of our retreats.

Q. What if I just want to spend some time alone reflecting, or reading a book?

Your days are free to enjoy as you please. All activities, excursions and group events are entirely optional. Join in as you wish, but spend as much time as you like in whatever way you would like to enjoy your holiday.

Q. Twice daily yoga sounds like a lot. What if I wake up tired and don’t feel like doing yoga?

Just like the activities, all of the yoga classes are offered as an option, but don’t feel obligated to come. Listen to your body and attend the classes you want to come to.

Q. I want to attend and I am really excited about the yoga, but my spouse has never done yoga and isn’t really interested. Should we still come?

Yes! Again, all of the yoga is optional, and there is plenty more on offer to enjoy a great holiday. While you attend yoga they are welcome to hang out by the pool, go for a walk, read a book, or have a drink.

Q. What if everyone is way better at yoga than me? Am I advanced enough to go on a yoga retreat?

There will be modifications offered at each class so that our retreats are suitable for everyone from first time yogis, to advanced practitioners. We have had people attend that have never tried yoga before, and we have also had yoga instructors attend. We want this retreat to be whatever you need it to be, a way to step away from every day life and really get in to your body, or an opportunity to do yoga everyday and advance your practice. Wherever you are in your yoga journey, a Yogigos retreat is for you.

Q. How will I find my way from the airport to our accommodations?

Any Yogigos retreat where you are required to fly into an airport provides land transfers between the airport and the accommodations. We don’t want you to have to fly into an unfamiliar country and have to fend for yourself as you navigate your way to where you need to go. Although that can be a really fun adventure, and you are welcome to arrive early and tack an adventure on to your retreat, we don’t want it to be an obligation and want your retreat to be as stress free as possible.

Q. How can I find out about what activities are available to me during the retreat.

We provide a list of excursions and activities that are available to you as an option, as well as costs and how to book them. Your retreat leader is always happy to help you out if you have any questions.

Q. Vegetarian/vegan meals? I eat meat every day and that sounds like a challenge I am not up for. I need meat for energy.

On each retreat we take our food very seriously. Our vegetarian meals are crafted with consideration for protein intake, energy, balance and to make you feel great, and full! No one goes hungry on a Yogigos retreat. Also, what better time to try something new? Give your body a break. Allow your body to cleanse and detox. Embrace this opportunity for a week of full body, healthy living.

Q. Will anyone be drinking? I like to enjoy a glass of wine in the evenings.

At Yogigos, we think life is all about balance, and no judgement! This is your vacation and we want you to enjoy it as you see fit. Please enjoy some wine in the evening, or that margarita on the beach if that will help you to enjoy your holiday. I know I will be!

Q. How can I find out details about my retreat including what type of currency is used, electricity, visas, what to bring, etc?

We provide a comprehensive list of what to expect on our website under current retreats. Find the one you are attending and click the “more info” button to find out anything you need to know. If we have missed your question, feel free to contact us at any time and we will get back to you promptly.
